Original, 4-color, hand-pulled linocut by artist A.J. Masthay. This poster was made for Oysterhead’s Fall 2001 Tour, in support of their debut album The Grand Pecking Order, release October 2, 2001. The itinerary included 20 dates across October and November of that year. According to an August 21, 2001 article on Jambands.com: “The much anticipated Oysterhead fall tour schedule has been announced. The trio features guitarist Trey Anastasio (Phish), bassist Les Claypool (Primus, Frog Brigade) and drummer Stewart Copeland (The Police). Prior to the tour, the group will play two warm up shows: September 14 at Toads Place in New Haven, CT and September 15 at Irving Plaza in New York City as part of the CMJ Music Marathon festival. Tickets to these two shows go on sale this Thursday, August 23. The tour kicks off October 21 at the Paramount in Seattle, WA and includes a two-night stand at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO October 30 31 and two nights at New Yorks Roseland Ballroom November 13 14. Tickets for the tour go on sale September 7, but will be available online for six days beginning on August 23. Contrary to rumors, taping will be allowed at all shows”. Stored flat since it was purchased direct from the artist in 2001, the poster is in As-New condition, and has been in the possession of only one smoke-free owner.
